The Wall in Bucks County

The Wall in Bucks County was a grassroots project that honored all those who fought in the Vietnam War by bringing the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall to Penndel, Bucks County and raising more than $31,000 in money and goods for local and national veterans causes.

Upwards of 25,000 people visited the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall during its three-day run in Penndel in 2017 to remember loved ones or comrades, to heal, or recognize the heroism and selflessness of those who fought in the Vietnam War. In 2018 a time capsule commemorating the event was buried at the intersection of Hulmeville Avenue and PFC John Dalola Avenue in Penndel.  The time capsule contains tributes left behind at the event, including: pictures, a uniform, notes, a Purple Heart, infantry insignia, obituaries, a baby’s pacifier, flowers, flags and MIA bracelets and is to be opened on April 15, 2075, the 100th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

All revenue generated above and beyond the cost of bringing the Wall to Penndel was donated to veterans causes. A donation by the Wall in Bucks County enabled the purchase of new panels for Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall to include names of servicemen and women whose fates have been determined since the creation of the Wall. In addition, the Wall in Bucks County made grants to 10 organizations to support their work with the veterans community.
