Bucks County Bridge Dedication in honor of

Cpl David J. Ortals, USMC

The County of Bucks is dedicating the bridge on Frosty Hollow Road, between the Upper Orchard and Snowball Gate sections of Levittown, PA on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:30am. The bridge will be named in honor of United States Marine Corps Corporal David John Ortals. The ceremony will last approximately thirty minutes and the public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Ortals was born on February 6, 1948. He lived in the Upper Orchard section of Levittown and attended Bishop Egan High School before transferring to Neshaminy High School. He was on the varsity basketball teams of both schools.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in June, 1967. He got married shortly before reporting to Vietnam. He served as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Mechanic with Headquarters & Maintenance Squadron 11, Marine Air Group 11, 1st Marine Air Wing. He died on May 22, 1970 in Da Nang, Vietnam.

The bridge is being dedicated on the same day that Ortals’ mother, Winifred, will be celebrating her 100th birthday with friends and family at her home in Arizona.
